Sedation Dentistry

Relax Through Your Dental Care
IV Sedation Dentistry Meriden CT 06450 Nitrous oxide sedation, also known as “laughing gas,” is commonly used to make treatment more comfortable. This sedation is inhaled through a mask that allows you to breathe in the medication and induces a state of relaxation. Local anesthetic will also be administered to eliminate pain in many cases. You will remain awake but relaxed during your visit and still be able to drive back to work after treatment, because the nitrous oxide leaves your system by the time you’re finished.

For those patients undergoing third molar extractions, we also offer IV sedation. This is a deeper and longer-lasting relaxation method, so we do require you to have a parent or adult at the office during treatment and to drive you home afterward.
